‘Tis the season for grabbing your darned cutest, re-usable tote and heading to 1 of the many summer markets that pop up during the warmer months in the mountains. It’s the BEST way to spend a lunch break, the BEST grocery store replacement and nothing feels more rewarding or tastes better than purchasing something from the maker or farmers themselves. The summer lineup in Park City:
PARK CITY FARMER’S MARKET: Every Wednesday from 11a - 5pm. Located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort. Mostly local food and produce purveyors, with a splash of vintage clothing, locally made soaps, live music, and delicious fresh food / BBQ to grab for a snack.
*MARKET MUSTS:
(some of these vendors are not present every single week - follow them on instagram for the most accurate updates!)
-Volker’s Bakery Bread: Always. Forever. First, grab a ham and cheese croissant to snack on while you walk around and scope the booths. THEN go back to get your full loaves for the week (if it’s me, for the day). They do not last long.
-Wasatch Creamery Ice Cream: If you’re an ice cream person, STOP here. Grab a cone and a pint or two for later. Some of our favorites are Salted Oreo, Lavender Blueberry, Whiskey Cherries & Chocolate (whoa, right?)
-Beltex Meats: A Salt Lake based company, Beltex Meats is an absolute treat if you are looking for something special in the protein department. House made sausages, pre-rubbed pork butts, beautiful steaks, the list goes on.
COPPER MOOSE FARM STAND: Tuesday & Thursday 12-6pm; Saturday 9-3 during peak summer season (hours subject to change). Located at 1285 Old Ranch Rd, the Copper Moose Farm Stand provides some of our community’s best organically/biodynamically grown vegetables, cut flowers, and various other local products.
*MARKET MUSTS:
-Get yourself a beautiful bouquet of flowers g** d***mt. I promise it will brighten your day.
-Produce, produce, produce! Did we mention produce? Copper Moose delivers BEAUTIFUL produce and you must go and get it while it lasts. Their instagram is the best place to stay up to date on what’s currently available. A teaser: golden beets, Japanese salad turnips, kohlrabi, and a plethora of other freshly harvested, organically grown veg!
-Milk Honey Cream Top Yogurt: Luscious, local, and incorporating some AWESOME flavors, this is a must-try and we are fully hooked.
PARK SILLY MARKET: Every Sunday from 11am-5pm. Located at mid and lower areas of Historic Main Street, Park Silly Market is an eo-friendly, open-air market with a street festival environment and includes vendors providing unique and electric arts and crafts, live music, delicious gourmet food, fresh produce, AND an amazing beer garden / famous Bloody Mary bar.
*MARKET MUSTS: for this one, the must is simply just arriving, getting a Bloody Mary from Top Shelf’s famous Bloody Mary bar and cruise the stalls. You will know what the other essentials are when they call to you ;)
That’s our roundup! Bottom line is get your butt to the markets, chat with local vendors, sample their delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables, grab a beer (or a fresh kombooch!)…..it’s SUMMER y’all.
